10.8.5 won't boot

Hi everyone

I'm running 10.8.5 an a MacBook Pro 5.3. Trying to restart the other day, booting stops at the Apple logo. forced shut down and rebooted into the recovery partition, where permissions have been repaired, disk has been repaired (no problems reported anyway).

I've also tried to reinstall 10.8.5 using the recovery partition and the wi-fi, but after I login to iTunes account, select the boot partition for install and hit Install, I get this nice message from Apple "this item is not available at this time, check again later".

When I selected the main boot partition for restart, I got an error message telling me the selected partition is not valid because BOOT CACHE could not be created...

Every boot attempt stops at the Apple logo, no other errors, just wont go any further.

Any clue how to fix this?
