ibooks very slow to upload pdfs

after updating to 9.3.1 ibooks is terribly slow to load new pages. it takes 5-6 minutes to open a pdf page from wikipedia. prior to the upgarde, it took 5 seconds. this is really irritating. .any ideas how to fix this? it's taken the fun out of ibooks for me. plus, after the upgrade to 9.3.1. i have Trouble ttyypppiiiinnggg.. i press once and get three aaaa or tttt, it drives me nuts.
