iCloud Spontaneous Logout

I've recently been seeing spontaneous logouts from my iCloud account. I have six devices connected to the account:

  • iMac running El Capitan (an institutionally controlled machine)
  • MacBook Air running El Capitan
  • MacBook running Mavericks (or maybe Yosemite? I can't remember now and don't have it in front of me.)
  • iPad 2 running iOS 9.3.1
  • iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3.1
  • iPod Touch 4th gen running iOS 6.something
  • iPad 1 running iOS ... I don't remember if it's 5 or 6. Something quite old, in any case.

Every so often one of these devices will lose its login to iCloud. I've noticed it most often on the iMac and on the older iOS devices.

Based on my reading, I don't think I'm bumping up against a device limit, but I'm at a loss as to what else it could be. Any ideas?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)
