Q: Face name stuck on photo
I have seven photos in which a face name tag appears in the lower left corner. of the photo, and appears to be not associated with any face. In each case the name is a duplicate of a face name which is properly associated with a face in the same photo. This example shows a full photo.
The name of the face selected above is duplicated in the lower left, and shows no circle which would identify the part of the photo determined to show a face.
This appears to be a field from a faces database record, which has become separated from the rest of the record and embedded in the photo. The photos which show this anomaly were taken at various times from 2006 through 2011, and loaded into iPhoto. The iPhoto library was imported into Photos. The issue has persisted through several versions of OS X and iPhoto and Photos. In iPhoto and Photos the library has been repaired many times, most recently about two weeks ago.
Does anyone else see such anomalies? Any ideas on how to fix this?
I think the problem is associated with the Photos database record for each particular photo. I imagine I can correct this issue by exporting, then re-importing the photos.
Unless it turns out I have missed some way to fix this, I plan to submit a report to Apple before I manually fix the photos. As well as my problem with the glitch on these seven photos, I think a bigger issue is that the glitches remain after running Repair on Photos (and iPhoto ...). Hopefully, having this problem which seems unrepairable by the current Repair will allow Apple to improve the Repair procedure to detect and fix more issues. If anyone else sees issues any issues like this, it might be useful to also have those examples.
