how can I arrange for, in a single row, when in one cell a checkbox is checked thus causing a different cell to go from grey to black?

What i want is simple: In a row that contains a checkbox I want to be able to check that box and thus cause a cell a few cells down to go from a light grey to a bold black. But how to?

Hi Brian,

Insert an auxiliary table (Table 2 in this example).

User uploaded file

Formula in B2 of Table 2 (and Fill Right)

=IF(Table 1::B2,Table 1::B5,"")

Conditional Highlighting in Row 5 of Table 1

Use Custom Style to get more choices (drag the panel up to see Custom Style)

Edit: you can turn off the Bold in Rule 1 (I forgot it is default).

Testing:

And again:

You can "hide" Table 2 (Cut and Paste to another sheet)

Regards,

Ian.

Edit 2: I assumed you wanted Cell Fill, but rereading your question you may be asking for text colour. Same process, different Highlighting rules 😉. Ian.
