Quick time remote

I have a MacBook Pro and need to play a movie during a conference. I need to pause the movie while talking in front of an audience and would like to know which remote would do that. Also I would like to avoid the control bar (see image below) to appear on the screen when I pause the movie so that the audience will not know I am pausing. Is that possibile? If I push the space bar the video pause without the control bar appearing but I need to be close to the computer which is not an option while on the stage.
