Suggestions - 13 MBP configuration for school & gaming

Hello all,

Teen is turning 17 and he's old MBP is 5 yrs old and it's way out.

Looking for suggestions of a new 13" or ?.

School work is primary. Leaves for college in just over a year and games. Minecraft and flight sims. School work is typical nothing special.

He dabbles in photography and little video but basic stuff.

Would like to stay under 2K?
