I have an iPhone 6s. I notice that the battery life isn't as much better than my 5s, and I was wondering what could be draining it. Turns out if I want "Hey Siri" on the 6s you need it to be on all the time. I only want it to be on when I'm at home, plugged in. I use it to set kitchen timers and stuff.
How do I do this?

then you have to manually turn it on and off.
You can enable Low Power Mode in Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode. Doing this will achieve the desired effect ("Hey Siri" works when plugged in, but not cord-free), however the scope of Low Power Mode is wider than just Siri. You might not mind that if you are trying to conserve battery life.
