Q: I turned on text message forwarding on my Mac. Now my texts won't send. Help?
Last night I discovered text forwarding and I turned it on. I was texting my mom (she has an android, never had an iphone) and it was being reaaaaally slow, sometimes requiring me to 'try again'. Now it's completely unable to send anything. I've turned both devices off, I've toggled the switch off and on, I've turned it back on and tried again.... iMessage works fine. I've tried SMS-ing an iphone, that won't send either. I've tried google, but my searches always turn up the "was an iPhone, now an Android" or "didn't get an activation code" issues.
Current things I've tried:
- Turning off text message forwarding, turn off both devices
- toggling MMS messaging
- SMS from the Mac
- Resetting network settings
- Turn off data/wifi and send a text
- Turn off iMessage and send a text
- Log my Mac out of my iMessage account and send a text from my iPhone
At this point, complete reset is the only idea I have left, and I'd really like to avoid that.
