Can not retrieve contacts from iTunes or even find them in iTunes.

How are you trying to retrieve contacts from iTunes?
And can you please clarify dropping contacts?

I am going to iTunes and right clicking on iPhone icon. then have no where to go to next.
Contacts are just disappearing randomly on my iPhone. When i go to find a contact I know is in there, its just not there. Its been happening since I upgraded to 9.3. (SORRY I HAVE 9.2.1) Am afraid to upgrade to 9.3.1 after all problems with 9.2.1. Help
Try this in sequence please
1. Log into iCloud as per prior post
2. See if all your contact are there
3. If yes - then ON the phone
4. Settings - iCloud - UN check contacts - say yes to warning about deletion
5. Force restart the phone
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
6. Settings - iCloud - RE check the contacts
They should download onto the phone
On #2 All my contacts in i Cloud are Not there and only the ones I have directly typed into i Cloud.
When I plug my phone into computer it is Syncing to iTunes. I have been all over iTunes and can Not find my contacts.

iTunes does not store your contacts as a discrete file you can check
It is part of the overall back of everything on your device
If you restore an iTunes backup - you may see all your contacts come back
Wonder what happened to make them disappear from iCloud unless they were deleted from the phone and that was backed up to iCloud
Be that as it may
You may want to consider using a Contact backup app - there is a couple of free ones on the App store
iTunes does not store contacts. It syncs them to the phone from the contacts app on your computer.
