I have an Alienware area 51 for oculus rift and it would be soooo nice to use my Apple thunderbolt display for both PC and a Mac ( not at the same time, of course; it would be OK if the Mac is shut down while using the PC). Is this possible with an adapter? How about if the display connects to the PC through the PCI express X16 (graphics) slot?

It will work only if the PC has a Thunderbolt port.
