Question

how do I move pictures from my iphone5 to a removable sd card?

So, I'm not familiar with the apple way of doing things, please forgive me. I'm trying to remove pictures and videos from this iPhone I have but I want to put them onto a removable SD card instead of importing them to my laptop then individually selecting 1,600 files to move/delete. There has to be a way to put these images onto this SD card easily. I should also mention that the iPhone5 is iOS 8.3 and has no room to update until after I move these pictures off. Thanks in advance.

This information is helpful, but doesn't actually do what I'm looking to do. I have a 32gb SD card (one of the microSD cards with the adapter) that I want the photos transferred to. I was thinking that iTunes would have an option in the import process that would allow me to direct the 'import' to the sd card plugged into my Dell laptop. So I'm not looking to buy a new drive to transfer to...

Not that familiar with Windoze but I believe that there is an option to select the folder the pictures are imported to - the default is Pictures

If memory serves - folks have mentioned that when the iPhone is plugged into the PC, there comes up a control box with some options about what can be done with the photos

That would be where you could point the process to the SD card if that shows up in My Computer and download the images that way

You won't be working with a file system that resembles Windows'. You can certainly import to your PC using a photo program first and then copy/move your files to the SD card.

If you try to do this in one effort, you will like find that the iPhone has its images stored in multiple folders. That is why is would be "best" to use a photo program first, then once your image files are in only one place, copy/move them to the SD card.

The basic principle is that you need to import your images to whatever imaging app you use on your computer, then you use iTunes (download the latest version) to control what files (music, pictures, podcasts, etc) you want to sync back to your iPhone.
