SSD hardrive for a 2011 mac book pro

Suggestions welcome, I am looking to buy a SSD for my 2011 mac book pro. Are there any compatibility issues with a 2.5 inch internal SSD drive?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), running Yosimite 10.10.5

I would start by checking on the OWC macsales.com web site. They are good about discussing issues with specific models.

Any SSD with a 2.5" formfactor will be compatible with your MBP. My personal recommendations are OWC and Crucial SSDs based on reputation and personal experience. A 2011 MBP has SATA3 connectivity so you can expect maximum performance capability from the SSD.
