Apple Care and RAM upgrades

If I install a RAM upgrade in my iMac, will that void my apple care? I'm planning on buying the RAM from Apple.

1.42 Mac Mini, 3 g Ipod.

User uploaded fileIs this for an iMac, or the mini that you have listed in your sig?

You can add memory to your iMac without voiding Apple's warrantee, but the mini has always been a question since it requires an effort to open up. I am not sure if that question has been resolved since I do not frequent the mini forums. I do not see why adding RAM to evena mini would void the warrantee.

I quote from the G5 iSight user's guide pdf:

Warning: Do not attempt to open your iMac G5. If your iMac G5 needs service,
consult the service and support information that came with your computer for
instructions about how to contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple for
service. Your iMac G5 does not have any user-serviceable parts, except the memory.

I meant "so what?".
The iSight has nothing to do with this thread.

Eric mentioned this site (www.apple.com) (not iSight) posts instructions for adding RAM.

Reading a bit too quickly perhaps?

Put the coffee cup on the floor and take 3 steps backwards...
Just step away from the coffee, Ma'am and everything will be okay.

All information is useful. The OP was worried about voiding his warranty, the information I provided was pertinent to that, pointing out that the other G5 iMacs are user serviceable. Only the iSight is not.

(it's too late in the day for me to drink coffee anyway 😉
