Why did my wireless keyboard stop working when I put new batteries in? There is no power in the keyboard now.

What to do when my wireless keyboard won't power on after I put in new batteries?

Wireless keyboard-OTHER, iOS 9.3.1

I would probably try different batteries as a first step and be sure they are installed with correct polarity.

I am not trying to be funny, but the power button was depressed, correct?

The suggestion to try different batteries was not meant to imply that you weren't using fresh batteries. It was to suggest trying a different brand of batteries. The bump of the positive end of the battery has to protrude enough to reach a recessed metal contact in the keyboard. Some batteries have a bump that is too small to reach the contact.
