File Info Professional launched by mistake on my Mac. Since then, the computer is non-responsive. The app is still open in the dock, but can't close or force quit it. Power button doesn,t perform shutdown. Computer is NOT frozen, but apps wont open.

Of the steps outlined, the only thing that the computer responded to was Sleep. Force quit doesn't close File Info Prof (which is causing the problem I think), Restart didn't work, and Shut down and Powering off not responding either. What do I do??!!

Can't open Activity Monitor either. Basically, anything I click on, bounces, flashes open for a split second and then closes itself.

Back in business. Suddenly, powering off worked. Came back on and is working fine.

What is this horrid File Info Professional and why do I need it on my computer?

Thank you, for all the help. I'm several thousand miles away from a genius bar, so glad the powering off worked! Time to trash that app now!
