Apple TV Remote Charging
If I use Apple TV maybe two or three times weekly, how long will the remote last before it needs charging?

Thanks. I had seen that. My Apple TV is brand new and I left the remote plugged in all night a week or so ago, used it two or three times during the week, and yesterday the thing was dead. I am wondering if there is something I need to turn off? I didn't think so, but could not understand why the battery died after such little use.
When it's working, you can check the charge in ATV settings, to confirm that it really is charged.
Do you put ATV to sleep when not using?
If problem persists, it could be a dud.
Return the ATV and ask for another. My remote works for months under regular use.
It should work fine out of the box. Don't waste your time trying to track down the exact cause of an obviously malfunctioning remote.
