Apple TV 3 Update 2016

I'm posting the following because I thought the Apple TV 3 software was stable. But that is not true.

Apparently, Apple released a security update to the Apple TV version 3 software on Feb. 25, 2016. Confusingly, the version number is still 7.2.1, but the build number is advanced to 12H523. This update includes a lot of fixes, as listed here About the security content of Apple TV 7.2.1 - Apple Support . After updating, owners should certainly power cycle their units (disconnect power for at least 30 seconds) to ensure a clean start. Then, review settings to be sure nothing has changed by accident. Several users have reported problems following this update, particularly relating to WiFi. If these cannot be resolved by the usual means (hittting everything with a stick 😉), you should definitely report the problem at http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html since it may represent an actual bug in the fixes.
