I've tried all the onboard brass sounds but in a live setting with my band they all sound a bit like a fairground organ. I'm looking for a punchy brass sound for use in a Jacksons song. Thanks

It's hard to beat SampleModeling's various brass/wind instrument offerings but they're also not cheap if you need to buy a number of instruments at once in order to create section sounds. However, you wouldn't regret buying them.
Thanks dmbono. Quantum Leap's Hollywood Brass sounds Impressive. I'm interested in the pay monthly Composer Cloud offering they have. Do you know if it's possible to make use of this on both Logic Pro and also Mainstage when offline at a gig? Thanks

Thanks CCTM. I looked at Session Horns and the non-pro version seems to meet my requirements (and budget). I'm a total novice to this. Can I use Session horns both in Logic Pro and also in Mainstage for playing brass at gigs on Macbook? Is it a plug in? Thanks

Most of those libraries run in Kontakt plugin from NI. This is available as an AU plugin which will work in LPX and MS, and you can run it standalone.
Session Horns & Pro will run in the free Kontakt Player
