How I get Night Shift to auto sync with sunrise/sunset?

I was able to do this on my iPad mini 4 with no problem but I don't see the auto sync feature there at all on my iPhone 5S, I can only manually schedule.

Does this feature not exist on older devices? Or does it only exist on iPads?

Does anyone know if Yosemite or El Capitan has this feature?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.1

I'm not sure about "older " devices, but on my iPhone6s running iOS 9.3.1 I can go to:

Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift

and with Scheduled on then tap From/To and select Sunset to Sunrise in the AUTOMATE SCHEDULE section.
