Compilation & Shuffle

I ripped 3 CD's containing a single opera using iTunes for Windows. All tracks on each CD were joined by iTunes, so I ended up with 3 long "songs". I want to be able to upload them with Match and then having them play together, in order, on my iPad when in shuffle mode.

I did the following on iTunes:

1.- Selecting all 3 "songs" and clicking "get info", I entered the same information in "artist", "album", "album artist", "composer", "grouping" boxes.

2. I checked the "compilation" box.

3. In "Control/Shuffle" I checked the "groupings" option.

4.- Uploaded it all via Match.

5.- On my iPad all 3 tracks are shown as a "compilation".

Unfortunately when playing music on my iPad in shuffle mode the individual CD's play separately out of order, so obviously something is wrong.

Am I attempting the impossible here? If not, what am I doing wrong?
