how do i delete some of the pictures from my icloud? someone told me i can back up the pictures on itunes and then delete the ones on icloud but how?

I don't believe you can just backup the pictures to iTunes (except a part of the overall backup which I don't think will help you). You can, however, copy the pictures to your computer and then delete them from your device. See:

As far as iCloud, are you just using it to backup? Or are you using something like Photo Library or Photo Sharing?
