Students can't deliver or download pdf's. Is there a reason this happens occasionally?

I've recently started using the hand-in and grade feature. I've had a couple of instances in the past where students got an error message when trying to download pdf assignments. The last two days I've had them submit their work, both the students and I received a 'Not Delivered' message. The file is there but can't be opened. Is there a fix on our end? I've tried reinstalling the app on the iOS device.

Network conditions generally make problems like this difficult to diagnose because any network or machine between you and Apple's servers could be causing the problem. You might be able to narrow down the problem by:

  • checking Apple's servers status at http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
  • use an app or service like speedtest.net to test your local network performance (pick a test host near San Francisco, CA)
