Can i not transfer a playlist from apple music to my ipod nano?

I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong but the Nano does not appear to run iOS9 or have full Internet capability (only Bluetooth). Apple Music has to be transferred directly to a device, not synced through iTunes.
