View Apple TV on Asus laptop

I have an iPad Air, and iPad Air 2 and Apple TV 3rd generation as well as an Asus Laptop. What I'd like to do is use the rear facing camera to make YouTube videos (with the camera aimed at me which means I can't see the display) but I'd like to be able to see what the camera see's on another device, either my other iPad Air or laptop. Is this possible to do and if so, how would I go about doing this? The room I'll be recording in doesn't have a TV in it or else I'd just hook up the Apple TV there but I'm basically just looking to have a 2nd monitor while I'm recording. And yes, my laptop does have an HDMI input if I need to use that.
