I just bought my gold nano 7 16gB, about 5 days ago.
At first it worked fine, but now I get a never ending series of clicks and gaps as each song plays through.
Ive tried everything, resetting, recovery, but don't know what else. firmware says up to date at 1.1.1

First, make sure the headphones plug is fully inserted into the headphones jack of iPod. The fit may be tighter than expected, especially when brand new. It should "snap" into place. If the plug is not fully seated, that may cause the problem you describe.
Didn't work.
Switched over to new earphones, seems to work, ill close this thread soon if I'm sure its solved !

If the headphones that came with the iPod are the headphones that do not work properly, it's covered by the iPod's warranty (for manufacturing defects). You should be able to get them replaced.
Nano gen 7 plays with gaps and clicks in songs.
