Possible lost apple id

Hi, I can't access my apple id.

When I type in my password, it says it is wrong, but I can't remember changing my password.

Then, when I go to account recovery, it asks me for a verification code from my trusted device, which I can give as I still have access to my trusted device.

BUT then it asks me to verify my card nr and it says my security code (the 3 digits on the back of the card) is wrong and I dont know how this can be as I have the card right in front of me in my hand and surely I would not have been able anything from itunes unless these details were correct!

It says that "account recovery"is in process and it will take a few days and I will be contacted on my trusted device.

The problem is that I do not have access to my apple id email any more.

Does anyone know if my account will be lost forever?
