correct power tap for evga gtx980 ti

Hi all,

I bought an EVGA GTX980 TI for my late 2010 Macpro. I am using all four sata ports. Will there be enough watts on the optical drive rail?

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

It has not arrived yet but I believe it has one six and one 8 Molex inputs. It is an EVGA reference board. Are those pins you are talking about the ones that route through the motherboard? I have heard horror stores where people have tried those and fried the whole board. The card pulls 298 watts maxed out which is just under the 300 watts available through the board.

The card will work fine with the power supply in the Mac Pro.

You will need to install drivers for the card

you will also need a 6 pin to 8 pin power cable
