Official Apple Lightning Cord Not Recognized

I've had it with Apple... I've had nothing but problems since I upgraded. I am on my 3rd apple lightning cord within a year, plug it in to my phone and it says it's not the official apple charger (when it is) and my phone might not accept it. Tried every trick in the book, cleaned it, airplane mode restart, restored the phone. Nothing works... for some reason the really beat up cord (2nd one) which is hanging by a thread of wire and could snap in half any minute now will still charge it but only at a certain angle. Why won't the new charger work?
