Volume & Typing issues

I'm running a 27 inch Late 2013 IMac, 3.4Ghz Intel Corei5 8GB 1600 Mhz DDR3.

I'm having 2 issues with my IMac, Both appear at the same time and only go away after restarting the computer, Then reappear again later.

Issue 1 - There are times when I attempt to type something, The letters appear on the screen very slowly and sometimes the alternate letters appear above the current letter as if the key for that specific letter is being held down, it happens to allotter and numbers, not one specific letter or number.

Issue 2 - When attempting to adjust the volume up or down, by either using the keyboard or the on-screen volume adjustment, the volume either goes full blast or to mute depending on weather I was trying to raise or lower the volume.

PLEASE help, this is driving me nuts!

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
