Turn off WiFi on Airport Extreme, Time Capsule

Unfortunately, Apple routers do not provide the type of feature that you are looking for.

You might think about plugging the AirPort router into a simple electronic timer that automatically turns the router on and off at the times that you specify each day.

I would not do this....since I have no need.....but If I did, then I would use a simple electronic timer.

The downside to doing this would be that constantly turning the router on and off will place a bit more stress on the unit than simply leaving it on. So, the product might not last quite as long as normal.

There is nothing in the product manual that indicates that users should NOT do this, but there is also nothing that indicates that this would be recommended.

That's why I suggested that you might think about doing this. The bottom line here is that to do what you want to do.....if you want to use an Apple router.....then this this is what you will need to do.

I think it's basic that option on routers, my child don't want thats waves on his brains at 5ghz. I prefer disconnection power on nights than leave the router open all the night. If is not good for router, sorry i prefer my child brains.
