Computer Keeps Restarting Randomly (10.10.3, 10.10.5)

Long story short, the other day I updated from 10.10.3 to 10.10.5 and it randomly restarts itself sometimes giving errors on screen after restarts and sometimes not. (Luckily, I have a back up from time machine on an external.)

I command+r and tried to reinstall from my TM backup and my hard drive wasn't there. Turns out my hard drive failed which force me to buy an OWC Aura G6 1TB. Used TM to go back to 10.10.3 and it still resets itself randomly.


Will updating to el captain fix this problem?

Apple has likely introduced over 100 variants and sub-models of the MacBook Pros since its introduction in 2006. What exact MBP sub-model do you have? Some have known video issues and may qualify for out-of-waranty repair at no cost to you. If you do not know, find the serial number:
