passcode removal
I set a passcode and want to remove it. I followed settings>general, but at this point I don't have the option, passcode lock. I have a 4s. Hope someone can help me.

I can't remember how long ago it changed, but in the current and recent versions it is no longer in Settings > General. On my 5s it is in Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. On a 4s I suspect it will be Settings > Passcode.
What iOS version is the device running? That makes a big difference as to the path you would follow....

You are correct (as usual) - just checked my child's 4S (9.3.1) 🙂
Of course you are correct! In this case the hardware changes the path as opposed to the software 🙂 (smart FoxFifth!!!)

In this case, both hardware and software could have been involved. In older versions of iOS I'm pretty sure it was in Settings > General and then an iOS update moved it from General and put it directly under Settings -- with the name dependent on the hardware as ManSinha (or actually ManSinha's child!) has confirmed.
Thanks to all for your help. I being the dork I am, didn't read the prompt correctly. It was under settings>passcode, when I went in under passcode it wants your code and then it takes you to unlock. I was looking at it thinking it was asking what you want to change it to. So problem solved.
You are most welcome
