Assigning volume function key logitech k120 keyboard

Broke my Apple USB keyboard tonight (don't ask how; I'm an idiot). So I bought a Logitech k120 at Target. It's OK, but I'd really like to have the following functionality back with this new keyboard:

Volume Up

Volume Down

Mute

Eject DVD

I checked Keyboard in System preferences, but didn't seem to find any settings for those functions. Any suggestions?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 30GB Ram 800 Mhz 2x2.8 Ghz Quad Int

OK I figured out something http://superuser.com/questions/224264/how-do-i-control-the-system-volume-on-os-x -with-a-keyboard-without-media-control

It required the installation of something called

Karabiner (formerly KeyRemap4MacBook

I had to run a remap of its xml file:

http://superuser.com/questions/460942/osx-remap-decrease-volume-key/461127#46112 7

So that is great. But now, I want to assign some of the Function keys to Services (from System Preferences=Keyboard=Keyboard Shortcuts), it won't take anything except alt/opt and a letter such as (cmd U for example). I don't see to find any other computer functions assigned to the other fkeys. Every time I enter an f key it shows up, but then disappears.
