the latest release notes of Logic say:
New Features/Enhancements
Logic now offers a new preference pane (Control Surfaces > MIDI Controllers) that allows the automatic assignment of controls for supported USB MIDI control devices to be enabled and disabled.

The Edirol PCR is even discontinued.
What about the m-audio code 61, Behringer Motör 61, Behringer X-touch etc ... ?

Alesis Q49 isn't on the list but it maps automatically! yet the Roland Pro is on the list and that doesn't work! I sent it back to get the Alesis! bit confusing!
