MacBook Pro fell , light flashing three times , won't start

HHello, my MacBook Pro 2011 fell ,about two feet onto the ground, there is no external damage. Front light is blinking three times and won't start . Tried holding button , smc, pram. Have been reading about RAM. Perhaps it is loose,,,hope that is all it is. Don't have tools( unibody) . Any ideas, help? Thank you

MacBook (13-inch), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Three beeps and a comparable blinking power light mean, "not enough WORKING RAM to start up."

You may have to remove and re-seat the RAMs.

The only tool needed is a #0 Phillips screwdriver, which is readily available at lots of outlets. It is not considered a "special tool" like a trip-lobe, or even a Torx -- it is just a very small Phillips.

In the US, you could probably buy a small set that included that one and a few tiny slotted Jewelers' screwdrivers at Home depot.

Just being grumpy (Grant Bennet-Alder would be shocked at the idea) ...

2011s fall into the "obsolete" category late this year early next and Genius Bar will stop servicing them. I would have Genius Bar give it a health-and-wellness check now ... no need to mention the drop. That way you get a last check and if they mention anything you can "suddenly remember".

Any examination of Apple products is free (try that with a Dell or HP). But after the 5-years (maybe another 6 months) it is obsolete and they stop carrying parts in Genius Bars.

Yes ... Apple does like to sell new products, but also they cannot stock parts forever on older systems AND keep newer systems alive.

As to "thin shell" ... my work HP system is plastic parts held together with screws. They do not survive falls as well as MBPs.
