Any ideas out there how to remove bluetooth devices from the bluetooth menu? I have a couple I no longer use but I don't see who to remove them. When I click on the "x" next to it, all it does is try to pair which of course it doesn't because I no longer have/use them. Any suggestions appreciated.

Make sure the Bluetooth icon is showing in the menu bar. Try holding down the option key while you click on the Bluetooth icon. Select the device and there should be a Remove" item in the menu.

Thanks Mike for your suggestion. I first tried the other options listed in what to do before doing SMC reset. Turns out I just needed to use the option key as dialabrain mentioned.
