I "updated" iMovie yesterday, and my problem may be because of the update; maybe not. Either way after I add media, and try to drag a part of the media in my Media Tab to the timeline, it won't let me only drag the section I want to select. I cannot even create a selection, it just selects the whole clip.

In the new version (10.1.2) you have to hold the "R" key down while you drag the mouse across part of a clip in the media pane in order to select a range. You can then drag it into the timeline.

Hi, do you know anyway of showing my media clips frame by frame on the new update?
Yes its the same as before, the forward arrow key advances 1 frame and the backward arrow key goes back 1 frame. You can verify this in the timeline by counting how many frames you see over an interval of 1 second as shown in the time display.
