Chromecast videos
Is it possible to Chromecast iPad compatible videos? Also am I correct in understanding than the compatible format is MP4?

There are apps that send video to a chromecast. One is Infuse, which costs $10 for the pro version. It casts the same variety of video that Chromecast supports. Another app is TV and Video Cast - or is it Video and TV Cast? - which I think is about $5 for pro version. An app like Infuse is for sending MP4, etc while an app like TV Cast is more for casting video you find on the net. And Chrome for iOS also casts videos, particularly of course YouTube.
