Q: M keyboard cover

Hi,

I have a retina display 13 inch. I was just curious to know if the keyboard cover could melt or produce dangerous fumes when the mac has heated up. This is because sometimes the mac feels very hot on touch and the keyboard cover even feels warm. As such, i am wondering if it is possible for the keyboard cover to melt or produce dangerous fumes when the macbook heats up to a very high temperature?

Regards

    I wouldn't use a keyboard cover.

Just keep liquids away from the Macbook Pro.

    Best.

    Hi,

The Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities) might show you applications that are running large amounts of CPU for sustained periods.

There are apps out there that will tell you the temperatures at various points (you have to know what to compare it to though).

I would have thought a manufacturer would have tested their product in "extreme" conditions such as Saudi Arabia in th hight of summer doing Video Editing.

However some might have just designed something with a more local market in mind and not done so much testing.

This was just one link after I search for "M Keyboard Cover" https://www.thehunt.com/finds/2GtW8B-keyboard-stickers---from-h-m

    The Search

    Images gave me a headache.

(my response was drifting towards "knock your self out on the fumes" )

    Hi,

yup i agree that keyboard cover makes it ugly but i use it as my hands are quite sweaty and i dont want dust to enter my keyboard. However, at high temepratures, when the mac pro retina display heats up will it melt the keyboard cover?

    Hi,

I actually have an application that states the current temperature and fan speed. however, i am just worried that whether at high temperatures, the keyboard cover that i am using for my keyboard, will it melt? this is because there is no onlibe articles about keyboard covers, only about keyboard keys.

    Hi,

There are just too many variables to be precise about this.

Is it possible ?  (will any product melt ?) the answer is yes.

Will it happen ? Probably not.

I would re-read the box f you have it.

Or visit a store and read it again or visit and On line store and see it it has any details.
