What does "Others"mean in ITunes?

I have an Iphone 6 16GB. Whenever I sync it with Itunes I get a yellow tab as Others which states +-1.75 GB storage. What does it mean? Is it cached files or temporary files and dat? I have around 900 songs in Itunes and I sync either the entire library or customize it depending on the storage capability. Apps that I use are FB,FB messenger, WhatsApp, Skype. I don't have any books or files or documents or photos. I,also, clear the browsing history on a regular basis. How to reduce the "Others" storage so that I can get more available space on my device.? Please help.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1

That is part of it. The link that elcpuposted for you will give you some more information about it and there is a user tip in ASC that you can read for more information.

What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?

E-mails and and text messages with attachments can begin to take up a fair amount of space over time. So clearing some of those out can help. But your "other" really isn't out of control. It takes up a nice chunk on a 16GB device, but it could be pretty close to normal for what you have on your phone.
