Apr 30, 2016 5:47 PM in response to shakeelmendezby Lawrence Finch,It won't do any harm, but it's a temporary fix. Just buy another cable. $20 to keep an $800 phone working correctly doesn't sound excessive.

Apr 30, 2016 6:14 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby shakeelmendez,i do intend on getting a new one. but I wanted to know if a damaged charger would affect the phone at all. It's really expensive so I don't want to risk it.
the charger works fine just that at the point of insertion the cord is exposed as though it's been bent alot.
its fine if I continue using it till the charger stops working?

May 1, 2016 6:44 AM in response to shakeelmendezby Lawrence Finch,A damaged cable (it's not a charger) will either work or it won't work. However, a counterfeit cable CAN damage the phone. So when you replace it get either an Apple cable or a cable that is certified as "Made for iPhone."

May 4, 2016 9:02 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby shakeelmendez,i usually only buy in stores.
But say I some how buy a counterfeit charger, even though i asked for an original charger. Would the phone show signs that the charger is fake, or would the phone instantly start failing and eventually stop working?
