MBP Display 2560 x 1080 for LGMU58 Monitor?

Has anyone out there been able to get a MBP mid 2012 output 2560 x 1080 resolution. I bought an LG Ultra Wide Monitor but when I connect it a message pops up saying I dont have the correct resolution. Can someone help me out to fix this? Thanks
