can't remember exactly but prior to the import of photos which has video also you must use raw I believe. In other words photos is done one way and video another.
Did you take the videos using the iPhone's camera?
If you open Image Capture can you see the videos on the iPhone's?
When I have video on my iPhone (iOS 8.4.n), and connect it to my Mac, iMovie wants to get involved.
What way are they different?
Yes, I used my iPhone camera. Is there any other way than Capture?
Do the videos appear in Image Capture app?
Why not use iMovie?

Did you use the iMovie import method shown in
iMovie (2013): Import from iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch?

The videos appear in Photos, but are still. I tried iMovie, but only the old version of iPhotos comes up. How do I add the Photos version? This used to be so much easier with my older 5c iPhone and iPhoto.
Hooray! I went to the related article and followed the instructions. It worked. Thank you for all of your help. Sometimes I'm a little slow trying to figure out all of this technology. I'm 81 and trying to keep up the fast pace of these times.
