apple maps in ios 9

Question

apple maps in ios 9

i can't delete the locations in "recent" on apple maps on my iphone 6s, as there is nothing to tap that states delete them?!

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

Follow the below steps to clear the recent searches on the app.

Launch the 'Maps' application on your iOS Device.
Tap in the search bar.
Select Favorites.
Tap on Recents in the bottom navigation menu.
Tap on Clear in the upper left hand corner.
Tap on Clear All Recents in the popup menu.

How do I delete recents when I just click on the search/address bar and below the food drinks shopping travel links I see a list of recents that are not on the recents list?
