Bluetooth mouse has lost some functionality

Suddenly my scroll button will only scroll UP the page, not down. There is no specific preference for direction, so it's set for vertical and horizontal. Anybody got any suggestions as to how to get it to work correctly - which it's done up until today. Thanks

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

have you tried adjusting the settings in the preferences to 360 degrees just to poke it abit!
Alternatively have you tried taking the batteries out and reinstalling it?

I don't really know what to suggest, take it back to apple if it's broken

i have the same problem occasionally with my BT MM, what ive found to work is to seal your lips around the scroll button and give it a sharp blow, avoid spitting into it obviously, but a couple of short strong bursts should do the job. that and just turning the mouse off and on usually restores it to normal functionality

this is truly the most annoying aspect of the MM, it drives me nuts when it happens but it does go away

This related to the Apple Might BlueTooth Mouse. I tried the various solutions, without any positive results - then went to a nearby Apple Store, where one of the Genius folk rolled the ball over a towelette moistened with alcohol (like those little paper things KFC hands out with their chicken). That seems to have done the trick - so hopefully this will help anyone else with a similar problem.
