Lost notes

I went to Verizon store to delete my old phone so I can give it to my sister. However, when I got home my new phone (6S) notes were deleted. I didn't take my 6S with me. I tried to back up through I tunes to my last restore (which was a week ago) but none of my notes were recovered. I know all my notes (all my most important information) is gone. I really really need my notes back. How can I get them back without purchasing some extra software??
