You can download the free malware removal utility here > https://www.malwarebytes.org/
Or, if you would rather not download MalwareBytes, follow the instructions removing malware manually here > Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac
First, never use any kind of "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" software on a Mac. That's how you cause problems, not how you solve them.
There is no such virus. Usually when people ask a question like yours, it's because they saw a popup on some web page telling them that they had a "virus." All such popups are scams.

A link has been posted in this thread to a scam web page. Everything on the page is nonsense. That's what usually happens when you search the web for information about malware: you get an endless litany of scams.
Carolyn Samit has made an excellent suggestion for you to download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac.

It has be recommended for use by Apple telephone support and is used by Apple store genius bar technicians in preference to the standard Apple instructions because it is faster , easier and more comprehensive.
Is it a malware/adware removal tool only and does not protect your Mac from same. The name might confuse some people thinking it is an AV application.
Ciao.
To clarify, you can't get a "virus" merely by visiting a website or clicking something on a web page. Any web page that says you have a virus is a scam. The way you really would be infected with a virus is by following a prompt on a web page to download and run some unknown software that you don't need. Avoid doing that, and you'll almost certainly never have a problem.
