Hey, I just noticed that my iPad mini 4 CPU clocks at 1.29 GHz, though official specs say it's 1,5 GHz. Was there anything I missed? iOS 9.3.1

Are you sure it is a Mini 4 and not a 3? How are you clocking it?
I just checked via Geekbench3 and also looked through some other Mini 4's Geekbench3 results which showed similar CPU speed of 1.29 GHz. Totally not a 3
I understand.... 🙂 All I can suggest is that the clock speed may well be a nominal amount just like a 16GB flash drive having less than 16GBs in actual storage. Maybe ??
Hope so, as other benchmark apps display either "up to 1,5" or just "1,5 GHz". Weird
Apple does not really publish its CPU speeds for iPads. Most websites that offer it, are guessing, or estimating based on the architecture, but there's no actual value given by Apple as such.
Beyond that, no way to know how these apps are testing for the speed.
So all in all it's a just a general ball park area of the speed.
For all you know the app may be incorrectly reporting the speed, or the established speed of 1.5ghz is not actually correct. etc...
