iMessage not sorting by newest on iMac

Hi,

My iMessages are not rearranging on iMac by newest received.

I have removed the account, deleted the files in library/preferences. Emptied the trash and started afresh. The same problem happened again.

I can see this was an apple issue a few years ago that they couldn't resolve. I was hoping there was a fix now.

I have checked my date and time preferences they are all correct.

Any help appreciated, this is super frustrating!
